Despite missing the flight and then having a pretty sleepless night on the train I did, at least, make it back to Warsaw. It was cold and wet and snow lay everywhere, which wasn’t particularly ideal for the footwear I had on. No problem though, all I really needed to do was get into this tiny place and warm up, but it was way to early for the check in.
So, I did what any other cold animal lover would do, I went to a cat cafe and got a hot chocolate. The type with the cream and sprinkles and whatnot. Anyway after the drink warmed me up a little I arrived at the place. I’ve always liked these tiny apartments. I think they reminded me of my own bedroom growing up, which I also kinda turned into a tiny apartment with a 3 piece suite and coffee table on one side of the room and bed on the other.
There was also this TV show, it was called George Clarke Amazing Spaces. The guy presenting it was from the same area of England as I was and he’d showcase these tiny living spaces. Admittedly they were way better than my old bedroom, but they sparked off some kinda curiosity for living in small spaces. Since I’m a minimalist at heart I think it catered to that minimalism.
The tiny Warsaw apartment itself was only thirteen square metres. Which was actually smaller than my old bedroom, but somehow the owner/host has managed to fit everything in there. Including the tiny shower that you can go to the toilet in at the same time as washing yourself. He added these funky foam sound proofing panels to the walls and I couldn’t tell whether this was for decoration or to keep the sound out from next door, but the entire time I was there I never heard a peep, so either they worked really well or weren’t necassary at all. It was a great place and had a little balcony overlooking the park. The location was good too so all in all it was a perfect option for a short stay in the polish capital.
