Imagine you only have 1 minute left to live

Sometimes, you’ll find yourself in these certain junctures in life where fear will be staring you in the face. Or it could be one of those other times where your sat and asking yourself, ‘Is this it?’ as you look out your window feeling all morose because life simply sometimes has a habit of getting you down. Well guess what… I have the antidote, and so do you since you’ve read the title of this article. Putting the anchors down and just for a few moments using that creative imagination of yours (we all have one even if you think you don’t) and just imagine you only had 1 minute left to live. It can be a scary thought, but it can also be a very enlightening one. It plunges you directly into the present moment and reminds you of life’s ephemerality. It’s a comforting thought, even if a little disconcerting at the thought of death. It gives a feeling of mitigation as you allow the clutches of life to loosen it’s grip. Go on try it, you know you want too…

I like to use this gimmick during moments of dis-ease. Like when you know you have to push yourself out of your comfort zone and don’t want too. It brings a sense of relaxation and – for want of a better word – Love. Suddenly the world seems a little bit more utopian and you feel at peace.
It’s not necessarily life changing but it is a good trick to use for those occasional moments where things can seem just a little unbearable.
